Osprey’s final competition of the 2011 season was fished on Farmoor 2 on Saturday 15th October. The weather was a pleasant 17oc with a light breeze developing later in the day. 17 anglers turned up for a superb day’s sport with 11 of the competitors taking their 8 fish bag and an overall total of 108 fish being caught weighing in at 233lb 9 ozs. Darren Williams took the top spot with his bag of 8 going 18lbs 12ozs which included the heaviest fish of 3lbs 11ozs. He was closely followed in 2nd place by Bob Wintle his bag weighing just 1ozs less and Chris Davies was 3rd with 8 fish for 18lbs 3ozs. Not only did Darren win the competition but he also secured ‘Fisherman of the Year’, congratulations and well done Darren! Ray Johnson secured ‘Merit Table champion’ beating Darren into second place by 4 points, well done Ray! The junior top place was again taken by Jac Sampson with 8 fish for 17lbs 5ozs.
